Jaroslav Tichý was interested in the history of Jews in Chotěboř and its surroundings and in the fate of Jewish families during World War II. In his estate there is a lot of information about the imprisonment of Jews during the war, transports - victims of the Holocaust from Chotěboř, Golčův Jeníkov, Habry and villages in the area (Dobrnice, Venice, Horní Studenec, Leština, Nasavrky, Proseč, Sázavka, Uhelní Příbram, Vilémov, and other).
