With over 300,000 physical volumes, and access to more than 50,000 electronic-journals, several hundred databases, and 428,000 electronic book titles shared with other libraries at the Wilf and Beren Campuses, the Gottesman Library provides students and faculty members with a vast array of information sources. The Library is particularly strong in the areas of Bible, Rabbinic literature, Jewish history, Jewish philosophy, Hebrew language and literature. Rare books and manuscript collections as well as archival materials complement the Library's holdings.

Constructed in 1968, the Gottesman Library at Yeshiva University, which carries the name of its benefactor Mendel Gottesman, is a six-story building occupying the length of a block along Amsterdam Avenue between 185th and 186th Streets. In 2014, David Gottesman, committed to his grandfather’s legacy, spearheaded an overall renovation of the building – the first in its history.
Librarians work with students individually to assist them in assigned projects and teach classes to help guide students in the identification, selection, evaluation and use of information.
Computing, wireless access, scanning, copying and printing services, along with software tools such as Electronic Reserves and citation programs, support research and learning activities.
