        rico:history                "The state archive in Tarnów came into existence according to the ordinance of the State Archives Department in the Ministry of Education from December 1st 1950. At first it was the County Branch of the Kraków Voivodship Archive, later (from 1952 to 1975) the Tarnów County Archive, and from 1975 again the Tarnów Branch of the Kraków archive. The original location of the Tarnów archive were the buildings at Kniewskiego (later: Bernardyńska) street.
