"The RHC Rijnstreek Lopikerwaard has emerged from the Streekarchief Rijnstreek in April 1, 2008 and holds materials from the Hoogheemraadschap Stichtse Rijnlanden and the municipalities of Bodegraven-Reeuwijk, Lopik, Montfoort, Oudewater, Woerden and IJsselstein.\r\n\r\nThe history of the archive service itself goes back to 1972. At that time, the (then) South Holland municipalities of Woerden, Bodegraven, Reeuwijk and Driebruggen and the Groot-Waterschap of Woerden established the Streekarchivariaat Rijnstreek. It was located in the town hall of Woerden. Municipal redivisions and the merger of water boards into Hoogheemraadschap De Stichtse Rijnlanden increased the working area. In 1994, the municipality of Montfoort joined the joint arrangement. Finally, in 2008, the municipalities of IJsselstein, Lopik and Oudewater joined in, municipalities that until then had had their own archives. On this occasion the regional archive service was renamed the Regional Historic Centre Rijnstreek and Lopikerwaard."@eng . . _:Bf4645d714cb6c33f041419f44debd604 .
