Stadsarchief Rotterdam
The Rotterdam City Archives are one of the oldest archives of the country. On October 22, 1857 the Rotterdam city council appointed a committee that would manage the materials that were kept in the city hall near the cheese market. Not long after the first municipal archivist was appointed. After a short stay in the Schielandshuis the archives were brought to a building in the Mathenesserlaan in 1900. In 1998, the archive moved to its current home, the former National Automobile Central to Hofdijk 651.
All records can be copied for a fee, unless the size or the state of the document, third party rights or restrictions on publiciation does not allow this.
