Tresoar is the repository of Fryslân's history. Here you will find numerous newspapers and magazines published in Fryslân, hundreds of thousands of books including copies from the library of Erasmus, tens of thousands of photographs, films, sound recordings, court reports, notarial deeds, the Blaeu Atlas, manuscripts and letters from famous Frisians, company archives of Douwe Egberts and archives of the Elfsteden association, CDs from Frisian punk to classical, the monastic work the"Attic Night" from 836 A.D., the oldest and newest (Frisian) literature, scientific publications, digital files, the civil registry of Fryslân with possible information about your Frisian ancestors, and more.
Open on working days on Monday from 13.00 - 17.00, Tuesday to Thursday from 10.00 to 22.00, Friday from 10.00 to 17.00 and on Saturday and Sunday from 11.00 to 17.00.
In the months of July and August they are only open on weekdays from 10:00 to 17:00. Check the website for the latest opening hours.
