For any reproduction of a document (photocopy, microfilming or digitisation), it is necessary to fill in a form which can be obtained from one of the loan banks. This service, for which a fee is charged, is provided on site. The Reprography service allows you to make photocopies on the spot or to print from microforms.

The General Public area offers over 53,000 recent and topical documents on two levels, classified thematically according to the Dewey classification. The Periodicals area offers 10,000 journal titles covering all disciplines. The Audiovisual area is equipped with modern material for viewing and reading this type of document. It is intended for the general public as well as for researchers and professionals in the sector. The Special Collections area provides BNRM users with a documentation of approximately 67,548 documents including cartographic, iconographic and object documents. The Research area offers more than 250,000 heritage documents (manuscripts, incunabula and lithographs, rare books) and contemporary documents. 
The BNRM is a public service open to anyone with at least a bachelor's degree, regardless of their status (students, teachers, researchers, public or private sector staff, retirees, journalists, authors and, exceptionally, occasional visitors) Access to the BNRM is subject to an annual membership fee and is governed by a set of rules for good users which specifies the rights, obligations and sanctions incurred in the event of non-compliance with its provisions by users.
