Hrvatski institut za povijest

The Croatian Institute of History is the successor of the Institute of History of the Labor movement and the Croatian Institute for Contemporary History. Institute for the History of Croatian Workers' Movement was founded in 1961. It has worked under the name of the Institute for Contemporary History from 1990 to 1996, when"the need for a comprehensive investigation and understanding of Croatian history called for a new nam" (from the offical webiste). Ever since then, the Croatian Institute of History covers the history of the period from the early Middle Ages until recent times.
