Nadbiskupijski arhiv Zagreb
Until 2011, the Archdiocesan Archives in Zagreb together with the Metropolitan Library of the Zagreb Archdiocese comprise a unique Archdiocese Department (Deposit) within the Croatian State Archives in Zagreb. The origins of the archives date back to 1914, when the Archdiocese of Zagreb signed an agreement with the Provincial Government on storing the archival material of the Archdiocese of Zagreb in the former Royal National Archives. The contract has been renewed three times so far (1966, 1984 and 1996). The current contract (1996) gave the Croatian State Archives custody of the Archdiocesan archives and registry records. Besides this archival material, which can be consulted in the Archdiocese reading room at 27 Kaptol street, the material of the Diocesan Museum can be perused, as well as records of dozens of parish archives, various Catholic societies, and individuals' legacy archives. From 2011, the unique material department of the Zagreb Archdiocese split into two separate departments, one of which combines archival records and the other registry records.
