Državni arhiv u Virovitici
Founded only recently in 1999, the archive of this small Slavonian town close to Hungary does not seem to hold any relevant material in relevance to its Jewish history but one is welcome to consult the title"Židovi Virovitice i okolice 1790-201" (Jews of Virovitica and its surrounding 1790-2011) available in the archive's reading room.

Jews settled in Virovitica and its surroundings at the end of the 18th century and are mentioned for the first time in 1790. Then they still do not yet have the right to own property and live in houses of the count Pejačević or sublet property. In one of these houses they organized their own synagogue. Jewish families are located in the vicinity of Virovitica as well , especially in the village ANTUNOVAC. Gradually, the number of Jews increased every census records. In 1941 there were about 300 Jews, and only 2/3 survived the war.
