The Society, today, owns archives of great importance (more than 5,000,000 documents), which are continuously expanding and are accessible to everyone interested in contemporary Greek history: archives from the Interwar years regarding the refugees settlement and agrarian policy, archival unities of the National Resistance (1941-1944) and the Greek Civil War (1945-1949) covering the whole political spectrum of that period, archival collections from the National Liberation Political Committee (PEEA) and the Middle East during World War II, documents on the anti-dictatorial movement in Greece and abroad (1967-1974), archives of unions and social organisations, documents on the Cyprus Issue, archives on youth and students’organisations from the post-junta era. Moreover, ASKI’s Library contains thousands of books, underground press, tracts and leaflets on the Greek 20th century. As mentioned above, one of ASKI’s main goals is to offer freely, without any restrictions, all these documents to the public. Therefore, the Reading room is open three days per week. Moreover, the Society is training students from various Universities (University of Athens, Thessaly, the Aegean, Panteion). Additionally, together with other scientific institutions (IAEN, EKKE, EKEBI), They also publish their annual journal Archeiotaxio, together with Themelio Publications.
Digital cameras are allowed. The use of lap-tops is permitted. Researchers must seek the written permission of the archivist before publication of any material from the archival holdings, and such publication much acknowledge the Archives source.
