The archive holds documents pertaining to the history of concentration camps Oranienburg (1933-1934), Sachsenhausen (1936-1945) and the Soviet special camp Nr.1 / Nr.7 (1945-1950), as well as administrative documents of the memorial and museum.
Gedenkstätte und Museum Sachsenhausen-Archiv 
In 1976 the archive at the Memorial and Museum Sachsenhausen first opened, though not open to the public until 1993. The archive became a public archive in 2000.
