The current building, designed by architects Maurice Houyoux and Roland Delers, was built between 1954 and 1969 and is part of the Kunstberg complex in Brussels (Avenue de l'Empereur 4). The Nassau chapel was then retained and integrated into the building.
The Royal Library of Belgium is the national scientific library. It collects all Belgian publications and preserves, manages and studies an extensive cultural and historical heritage. It provides the public with access to information, facilitates research and offers a broad cultural experience.
The building, museum and reading rooms are fully accessible for wheelchair users.
