He was married to Golda Kajla, and they had two daughters, Malka and Ester Hadasa, and one son, Leon. All family members except for Leon perished during the Holocaust|Leon Weinberg was born on Jan. 9, 1925, in Łódź, Poland. When Leon was thirteen, a Jewish ghetto was established in Łódź, and he was retained there for four years. He was deported to Buchenwald concentration camp and was liberated at the age of twenty in 1945. After a brief return to Łódź, he left Poland and spent three years in a DP camp in Landsberg am Lech, Germany. In 1949, Leon Weinberg immigrated to the United States."@eng .
