Isidoro Berger Safiano papers 
Isidoro Berger-Safiano was a wealthy businessman in Bucharest, Romania prior to the Holocaust. In 1941 19 teenage members of the socialist and Zionist Jewish youth group Hashomer Hatzair were arrested in Romania. 3 boys were sentenced to death and executed in 1941. The remaining 16 were sentenced to hard labor. Isidoro intervened and used personal connections to the last king of Romania Michael I to persuade him to allow the prisoners to immigrate to Palestine in 1943. He later immigrated to the United States and settled in Florida.
