Bohdan Khmelnitski - app.1595-1657. Hetman (prince) of Ukraine. Famous for war against Polish dominance in Ukraine. In 1654 he signed an agreement with Russian tsar Alexey according to which Ukraine would receive military support from Russia. Later on this agreement was reinterpreted in such a way that allowed the Russian tsar to perceive of Ukraine as part of Russia. The footage shows the monument of Bohdan in Kyiv.
