"The Economic Bureau of the Prime Minister's Office was one of the central offices created in connection with the anti-Jewish policy of the Hlinka's Slovak People's Party regime in Slovakia (1938-1945). This office was set up at the end of January 1940 as a part of the Prime Minister's Office (under Decree no. 41/1940 Ur. Nov). It ceased to exist in September 1940, when its staff moved to the newly established Central Economic Office. \r\nEconomic Bureau of Prime Minister's Office and its facilities were a direct result of a political activity of Prime Minister Vojtech Tuka, who wasl a leading figure of radical wing within the Hlinka Slovak Poeple´s Party. Vojtech Tuka’s seeked to intervene into the process of preparation and adoption of the so called aryanisation of Jewish property in Slovakia, as well as all economic anti-Jewish policies carried out by the Ministry of Economy. Therefore he created the Economic Bureau of Prime Ministers Office and appointed Augustín Morávek to be its head. The Economic Bureau of Prime Minister's Office was assigned to: Keep records of Jewish businesses; keep records of applicants for Jewish businesses; keep records of Jews employed in services; propose anti-Jewish laws; to prepare and to keep statistics. It also tried to prepare and propose cancellation of specific business licenses as well as to liquidation of specific businesses. \r\nEconomic Bureau of Prime Minister's Office comprised of five departments: \r\n1. Department - Presidial dep., general matters, \r\n2. Department - Revision of Aryanization agreements, Trustees, Temporary administrators, \r\n3. Department - Review and revision of business licenses , employment of Jews, \r\n4. Department - Statistics, reports, \r\n5. Department - Subsidiary offices, registry.\r\n\r\nThe Bureau ceased to exist in September 1940 after the creation of the Central Economic Office when most of its staff moved to this new body."@eng .
