The Office of the President of Slovak Republic was established by Law no. 263/1939 Sl. z. and activities related to the duties of the President of the Slovak Republic (1939 -1945) fell within its competence. Jozef Tiso was the president of the Slovak Republic for the entire existence.
The Office of the President of Slovak Republic was organizationally divided into the Civilian Service Department (Civilné oddelenie), the Military Department (Vojenské oddelenie) and the Accounting Department (Učtáreň).
The Civil Service Department was divided into four sections:
1. Cabinet: personnel matters of the President, official visits and trips, Representation issues. Correspondence of President. Political matters. Press,
2. Section I. Personnel matters of the Office, Personnel matters of state employees, especially appointments. Honors and Orders, pensions and donations. School matters,
3. Section II. : Legislation. International Agreements. Acts, Regulations, Decrees and their interpretation. Amnesty. Matters of legal help,
