"According to the 1918 union of Bessarabia with Romania, a network of institutions was set up, with the task of consolidating public order. By the Decree of the Romanian Government of 1918 on the organization of police in each county (judeČ›), the Police Prefectures were opened, as well as the Special Brigades of Security. Police Prefectures were subordinated to the General Directorate of Police and Security in Romania, and the Special Brigades of Security were subordinated to the General Security Inspectorate of Bessarabia. In 1929 the Police Prefectures and Special Brigades were reorganized into Police Headquarters, headed by a Quaestor and a Deputy Secretary. Police stations were under the supervision of the Basarabia Regional Police Inspectorate. \r\n\r\nTwo police institutions - Orhei Police and the Security Brigade - were created in Orhei. Orhei City Police had three sections: the Administrative Section, the Criminal Section and the Security Section.
