In between reunions, the ROK organization produced regular newsletters that served as a forum to connect the Kinder, mainly keeping them abreast of news concerning each other but also the broader Jewish world. The success of the 50^th reunion and demand for newsletters prompted Bertha to take on an additional project concerning the Kinder: she solicited memoirs of their departures from their families and homelands, journeys to Britain, and new lives in Britain and beyond. The accounts were published in the book, I Came Alone. Many of the memoirs in the collection are in response to this project.
