Adolf Heilberg: Pro Memoria 
Adolf Heilberg, Justizrat, (1858-1936) was born 14 January 1858 in Breslau. He was a barrister and a notary, and from 1883 a lawyer in Breslau and wrote about civil law.

He was an honorary member of the German Lawyers' Association (Deutsche Anwaltsverein); active in the peace movement; chair of the Silesian Chamber of Lawyers (Schlesische Anwaltskammer), 1892-1913; chair of the Liberal Party (Freisinnige Partei) in Breslau, 1893; founding member of the Deutsche Friedensgesellschaft (German Peace Organisation); politically active in the Deutsche Demokratische Partei (German Democratic Party); for 44 years a member of the Breslau City Council and from 1916 to 1918 its chair.

After having received numerous further honours on the occasion of his 75th birthday in January 1933, he was forced to leave Breslau two months later to escape arrest. He took a small apartment in Berlin where he died three years later, the victim of a traffic accident.
