Dr Max Dienemann: Divorce according to civil and Jewish law: A Treatise
The author, Dr Max Dienemann, was born in Posen in 1875 and died in Tel Aviv in 1939. After completing his studies at the Jewish theological seminary and the university in Breslau, Dienemann became rabbi at Ratibor in Upper Silesia (1903-1919). He then went to Offenbach, where he officiated as rabbi of the Jewish community from 1920 until shortly before he was compelled to emigrate from Germany in 1939. He is described as being one of the spiritual leaders of the liberal movement in German Judaism and played an active part in uniting the liberal rabbis.
