Dr Walter Manfred Bergmann: Family papers 
Dr W. M. Brent (formerly Bergmann) and his family were residents of Leipzig and came to Great Britain probably some time in 1939. He was a practising doctor until the beginning of October 1938, after which time he was no longer allowed to practise on account of his being Jewish. The official response (1028/2) to his request for recogniton as a specialist doctor is dealt with thus:"Da es jüdische Ąrzte nicht mehr gibt, kann es auch keine jüdischen Fachärzte mehr geben"
