Founded in 1949 the (DKR) is an umbrella organisation for today more than 80 local and regional religious organisations in Germany committed to Jewish-Christian collaboration and the fight against Antisemitism. Leopold Goldschmidt (1896-1987), journalist and political activist of Jewish-German-Czech descent, served as its general secretary from 1953-64. He had survived in Exile in France and Great Britain.
