Archiv města Strakonice
The municipality of Strakonice was promoted to town in 1367. Until 1402, the town with the castle had two lords - the secular ones (the Bavors of Strakonice) and the church ones (Johannites). In 1402, the castle and the entire city fell to the Order of the Knights of Malta. Until 1784, there was the mayor's office, which was replaced by the municipal office in 1784-1850, and in 1850 a town office was established. The Strakonice Town Office ceased to exist in 1945 when the town was liberated by the American army.
