"The Act of 2 November 1918 established the Office for Internal Administration, which was renamed the Ministry of Interior on 18 November 1918. The organizational structure of the ministry was formed by the presidium, departments, sections and auxiliary offices. After the adoption of the Act on the Organization of Political Administration in 1927, the powers of the presidium were extended, for example, to representational and disciplinary matters, internal organization of the service, management of official lump sums, etc. During the Nazi occupation, the competences of the Ministry of Interior were changed by orders of 15 January 1942. From the Ministerial Council presidium were transferred to the Ministry of Interior such important matters as the organization, legislation and public employees. Also, the Commission for the Streamlining of the Public Administration and the Planning Commission for Prague and its Surroundings were subordinated to it."@eng .
