The town was the center of the estate owned by various aristocratic families, from the 17th and 18th centuries it was the Lichtensteins-Kastelkorns and in the years 1761-1945 it was the Podstatskýs of Lichtenstein. The town of Telč was part of the political districts of Dačice in 1850-1855, and Telč in 1868-1949, 1855-1868, and in 1850-1949 it was part of the judicial district of Telč. Jewish settlement in Telč had been recorded since the first half of the 17th century, later there was a Jewish religious community, which disappeared during the Second World War, when 68 Telč Jews were taken to Terezín and Auschwitz."@eng .
