Archiv města Světlá nad Sázavou
Světlá nad Sázavou was established on the estate of the Vilémov monastery. We do not know much about the exact beginnings of the town, as important sources were destroyed during the burning of the Vilémov monastery in 1421. It was a non-royal town. There was a smaller Jewish community in the town. The synagogue was demolished after 1989, only the new Jewish cemetery has been preserved. The patrimonial office in Světlá was abolished in 1849. Its powers passed to the municipality, district office and district court. Světlá nad Sázavou belonged to the political and judicial district of Ledeč nad Sázavou and in the years 1850-1855 to the Pardubice region. In 1855 it was included again in the Čáslav region.
