Her family first settled in Hoffer, Saskatchewan, a Western colony set up by the Jewish Colonization Association. An older sister moved to Winnipeg during the 1930s. After World War II, the Dresher parents moved to a farm in Repentigny, Quebec. Mrs. Werner and her husband settled in Montreal after the war and opened a pastry shop, the Patisserie Montreal, in the city's east end, at St. Catherine and Plessis Streets."@eng .
