Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany. Source of acquisition is the Archiwum Państwowe w Łodzi, Sygn. 221. Documents of the Ghettoverwaltung Litzmannstadt survived thanks to the fact that Łódź was not considerable damaged during the WWII. After the war the archives were deposited to the Żydowski Instytut Historyczny im. Emanuela Ringelbluma in Warsaw, and in 1969 transferred to the Archiwum Państwowe w Łodzi. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the filmed collection via the United States Holocaust Museum International Archives Project in September 2007 (Reel 1-122) and March 2008 (Reel 123-262), Sep. 2008 (Reel 263-340), Feb. 2010 (Reel 341-459), Sep. 2010 (Reel 460-593), and in July 2012 (Reel 594 -604). This is an ongoing project.
