According to the heading of the anonymous report, it was written"somewhere in German" on 18 Apr. 1945. Major Donald Luby, who according to the report, was a member of the reconnaissance group whose mission is described in the report, gave a copy to Selma Faver, an Army nurse. She in turn provided a photocopy to United States Holocaust Memorial Museum at an unknown date. Supposedly, Major Luby also took the photographs in the collection on the same day.
