The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum received the microfilmed collection from Monsieur Philippe Bélaval, the Director General of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, on Oct. 17, 1996. Monsieur Bélaval attended the opening of the exhibit"Treasures from the Bibliothèque nationale de Franc" at the Library of Congress in 1996 and had occasion to visit the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum."Deeply impresse" by his visit, Monsieur Bélaval was moved to donate the collection to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum as a gift from the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
